Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using the Legacy Taxes mobile application ("App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the App.

Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years of age to use this App. By using the App, you represent and warrant that you are at least 18 years old and have the legal capacity to enter into these terms.

Description of Service

Legacy Taxes provides tools for personal and business expense tracking, mileage logging, receipt capture, bank account linking via Plaid, and tax-related financial reporting. The App is designed to assist with expense organization and is not a substitute for professional tax advice, accounting services, or financial planning.

Account Responsibilities

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You agree to provide accurate and complete information during registration. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.

Financial Data & Bank Connection

The App uses Plaid Inc. to connect to your financial institutions. By using this feature, you authorize Legacy Taxes and Plaid to access your bank account information (account names, balances, and transaction history) for the purpose of expense tracking and categorization. We do not store your bank login credentials. Plaid's terms and privacy policy govern their handling of your data.

Not Financial or Tax Advice

The App is an expense tracking and organizational tool only. Nothing in the App constitutes professional tax advice, financial advice, legal advice, or accounting services. Tax calculations, deduction estimates, and financial summaries provided by the App are for informational purposes only and may not be accurate or complete. You should consult a qualified tax professional or accountant before making any tax filing decisions based on information from the App.

Accuracy of Information

You are solely responsible for the accuracy of the data you enter into the App, including expenses, income, mileage, and receipt information. Legacy Taxes does not verify the accuracy of user-entered data. Any reports or summaries generated by the App are based on the data you provide and may contain errors if the underlying data is inaccurate.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the App for any unlawful purpose or activity. You agree not to attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the App or its systems. You agree not to use the App to store or transmit fraudulent financial information. You agree not to reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the App.

Intellectual Property

All content, features, and functionality of the App, including but not limited to design, text, graphics, logos, and software, are the property of Legacy Taxes and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App for personal or business expense tracking purposes only.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Legacy Taxes shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App, including but not limited to errors in tax calculations or financial reports, loss of data or financial information, unauthorized access to your account, and any decisions made based on information provided by the App.

Data and Privacy

Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your personal information. By using the App, you consent to the practices described in the Privacy Policy.

Account Termination

You may delete your account at any time from within the App. Upon account deletion, all personal data will be permanently removed from our servers within 30 days. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms of Service.

Modifications to Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Changes will be reflected within the App. Continued use of the App after any modifications constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

Governing Law

These Terms of Service shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, United States. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be resolved in the courts of the State of Delaware, United States.
